ERASMUS+ PROJECT: Art Bridge 2019 – ARMENIA

Art is something that makes you breathe with a different kind of happiness. We are Art ourselves.

“Art Bridge” project took place from 22.07-30.07.19 in Abovyan and Yerevan, Armenia. The central theme of this youth exchange was talking about the existing social problems through art. ART was used as a tool to address social problems existing in our life. The participants learnt, saw and explored different types of art, craft, photography, music, dance as well as they learnt about the problems that youth have in other countries and tried to reveal it to the society.

The project couldn’t be more successful and interesting without sightseeing! We went to Garni and Gehghard, saw the church and Garni temple. It was Vardavar, which is an Armenian festival where people drench each other with water. The festivities, associated with this religious observance of Astghik, were named “Vardavar” because Armenians offered her roses as a celebration (vard means “rose” in Armenian and var mean “rise”), this is why it was celebrated in the harvest time. Although it was weird for our participants, they enjoyed time there.

We had study visit to TUMO-Center for Creative Technologies. TUMO is a free of charge digital media learning center in Yerevan, Armenia. Participants saw how Armenian teenagers spend their time there, what they do, what they create, how they learn and what kind of success they achieve.

Could the project over without a party? Of course, No! We had a great party together, danced, sang and had fun together. We had intercultural nigh, too. We tasted different cuisines, drank national drinks and, of course, dance and sang.

Art speaks where words are unable to explain. Let’s create! Let’s create together! Let’s create ART together!
